Yesterday we went to Manila Science High School with JR, one of the campus ministers here at Victory Malate. It is one of the top high schools here in Manila and majority of the students go on to attend two of the top universities, De La Salle University and the University of the Philippines. We were invited to speak to one of the classes about Life Box, a new model approach of campus ministry that aims to teach and equip students about LIFE (Leadership, Integrity, Faith and Excellence). A few members of our team gave a short teaching on leadership, to engage and inspire students to be model leaders both at home and on their campus. Afterward we broke up into small groups and had discussions with the students. It was a great time of building relationships with students and as a team we learned how to engage more with them.

Last night was also our last time at the youth service. Percy, one of the campus ministers, gave a powerful message on significance that led to an awesome response and a lot of students to encounter God. After service a group of girls from PWU came up to us and introduced themselves. It was their first time at service and some of them were at our Hawaiian party the night before, which led them to come back for more and also bring along more of their classmates. They told us they really liked the service and wanted to come again. It was truly God! We also had a chance to pray over the youth mission team going to Rojas in August and bless them with an impartation . Our team got to individually encourage and bless other leaders that we had built with by praying over them. Last night Pastor Coach was also battling sickness but our team and other leaders from the church laid hands on him for healing and PRAISE THE LORD he was up and ready to go this morning!
Today we went back to PWU, Philippine Women’s University to attend the Freshman Acquaintance Party. God really opened the doors for on PWU. It is truly an amazing testimony that can only come by God’s grace because we were told by JR and Pastor Daniel that for the longest time they have been trying to get on this campus and minister to the students, but they were always turned away. On Thursday we were so blessed to have Dr. Fiel and students from PWU come to our Hawaii night. He had brought with him some teachers and faculty members and they were all blessed in the time we spent together. In attending the Freshman Acquaintance Party we got to connect more with Wendy and Sedrick, the president and vice-president of the Freshman class. We know that it is not by accident that they were the two people that our team got to build the most with since we first came on campus. We’ve got to know many of the life stories of the students and staff, and in doing so build bridges between the campus ministers and the school. We believe it is only the start of something great that God is going to do on Philippine Women’s University. We are just so blessed to have witnessed and been a part of the first seeds planted. Please continue to pray for opened hearts and strong relationships to built with PWU and the campus ministers. God is truly doing an amazing work!
As our team finishes our mission trip strong here in Manila, it is not the end but only the beginning of something GREATER!!
